NBA records zero COVID-19 cases inside the Orlando bubble

The National Basketball Academy (NBA) on Wednesday announced that it has not detected a single coronavirus inside the bubble. NBA reported zero cases after conducting a test of over 344 players and this comes as delightful news for the fans as well as the league. 

“Of the 344 players tested for COVID-19 on the NBA campus since test results were last announced on July 20, zero have returned confirmed positive tests,” NBA said in an official statement.

The NBA season will finally resume on July 30 after a hiatus of almost five months with Utah Jazz taking on the New Orleans Pelicans in the first match.

The second match is one of the most hyped matches of the league as Los Angeles Lakers facing LA Clippers at the Walt Disney Resort. 

The NBA and NPBA (National Basketball Players Association) had earlier announced that they have also drafted a ‘comprehensive plan’ in case of the players’ health issues and also all the safety protocols. The plan also includes the measures to combat any racist or social injustice with the players as well as staff management. 

“In addition, the NBA and Disney have reached an agreement that makes the Arena, the Field House, and Visa Athletic Center at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex the venues for all games for the remainder of the season, which will resume with 22 teams returning to play and with no fans in attendance,” the statement read.
