IPL 13: Bumrah and Boult’s confidence rubs off on me, says Pattinson

James Pattinson who joined Mumbai Indians squad lately in the ongoing edition of IPL 2020 as the replacement of Lasith Malinga has picked nine wickets from six games he has played in this season for the defending champions. By clinching these number of wickets for Mumbai Indians he has proved himself as a standout performer in the top domestic league in the world.

Pattinson ahead of playing against Delhi Capitals said that his journey with Mumbai Indians so far has been great and the only thing which has worked for him is keeping things simple rather than making it complicated.

“First time I have played in the IPL. Was picked by Kolkata In 2011 but didn’t played a single game. Mumbai Indians have really welcomed me and looked after me. Happy to have played my part. I hope we keep winning games from her aeon and make sure we keep the winning run going”. Pattinson said while talking in post-match presentation with media.

“I suppose it was tough for most of the players as we were coming from lockdown and we didn’t have a lot of training pre-session. Luckily most of my training was done with white ball in the pre-season that really helped although the conditions are different as it was seven degrees in Victoria and here it is 40. I think the biggest thing is to keep it simple and hit the top of the stumps,” he added.

Mumbai Indians after losing the first match has made a strong comeback like they always do and the major credit should be given to their strong bowling lineup which includes big names like Bumrah, Boult and Pattinson. Also, there is no point in taking any credit away from skipper Rohit Sharma who has brought his bowlers in attack at right time depending on the situations and the moment he has brought these bowlers to deliver for the team they have done that successfully in all three stadiums where the ongoing edition of IPL 2020 is played.
