Indian Women’s Squad for COTIF Announced

Indian Women’s COTIF Announced: The All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced a 22-member squad for the COTIF Cup on Friday. India women’s football team will travel to Spain to participate in the competition which will be held later this month. The recent rise in world ranking will give the players a huge boost in confidence going into the tournament. They are now ranked 57th in the world courtesy of some brilliant results.

Former India U-19 captain didn’t attend the preparatory camp which was being held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. Other names who are missing from the squad are Indumathi Kathiresan and Sandhiya Ranganathan. According to sources, they have opted out due to personal reasons.

However, the return of Bala Devi to national team has surprised many. She allegedly had a fallout with Coach Maymol Rocky and assistant Choaba Devi and was one of the seven footballers from Manipur, who had reportedly boycotted the national team.
