IND vs NZ 3rd ODI : India defeats New Zealand by 90 runs to make a clean sweep

With the victory against New Zealand on Tuesday, India completed a three-match series sweep of the visitors and replaced England at the top of the ODI Rankings. At the third and final ODI on Tuesday at the Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore, India defeated New Zealand by 90 runs. With the win, India defeated the visitors handily in the three-match series and replaced England at the top of the ODI standings.

Speaking of the game, India posted 385 for 9 after New Zealand’s captain Tom Latham won the toss and decided to field after scoring 101 off 85 balls for India and 112. off 78 balls for Shubman Gill. Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma put up 212 runs for the first wicket, after which it was all India’s game.

From that point on, wickets continued to fall frequently, but India still put up a massive total as Hardik Pandya backed India by scoring 54 runs in just 38 balls. In response the only resistance came from Devon Conway (138 off 100 balls), as the visitors were bowled out for 295 runs.

Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav each claimed three wickets. Just before New Zealand series India made a clean sweep against Sri Lanka also in the ODI series. India took a great start this year while having victories over victories. This is a good sign for Men in Blue being in form as the ODI World Cup is scheduled to held later this year. India will host the ICC World Cup 2023.
