ICC T20I Rankings: Mohammad Nabi becomes no 1 all-rounder, Suryakumar Yadav remains at top in batting

The ICC T20I rankings declared on Wednesday, saw some noticeable shuffles, indeed the T20 World Cup ongoing performances played a major role. Afghanistan team is undefeated in the tournament so far and their players got rightful elevation in the ranking table.

No 1 All-rounder in T20I

The rankings have got their biggest shake up in Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan, who has jumped two places to be the number one T20I all-rounder in the world. Mohammad Nabi up the rankings after the match against New Zealand, this stupendous show with both bat and bowl, especially the two wickets, took him to the top. 

The change at the top of all-rounder ratings was not only Nabi’s. Magnificent movement was made by Marcus Stoinis from Australia who has managed to climb up three positions and take second place. Bangladesh’s Shakib-Al-Hasan moved to fifth spot.

No 1 Batter in T20I

In the T20I batsmen rankings the charts showed the same picture with no change in the position of India’s Suryakumar Yadav. His onfield performances and new shot making ability still enthral the cricketing world.

A total of four new entries were made into the latest rankings and Afghanistan’s opening batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz who has scored 156 runs in T20 WC has risen to the 12 spot. This is his career best ranking.

On the other hand, the Pakistani cricket team captain, Babar Azam secured third spot and England’s skipper Jos Buttler is in 5th spot in the latest rankings.

No 1 Bowler in T20I

As to the bowler rankings, we go on to England’s Adil Rashid who kept his top position. Sri Lankan skipper Wanindu Hasaranga who have been in great form continues to remain in the second place.

However, the emergence of Afghani bowling is probably one of the inspiring tales of the tournament. Rashid Khan is in the third spot and his teammate Fazalhaq Farooqi bowling finds fourth spot levelling with South African speedster Anrich Nortje. 

In ranking, Bangladesh’s bowlers also raised themselves on the scene too. Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed and Rishad Hossain ranked 13th, 19th and 30th respectively. 

The ICC T20I rankings surely opens a window to understanding the dynamism of the T20 cricket. The Afghanistan cricketers rise actively while the other experienced and talented players like Suryakumar Yadav retains its spots. The T20 World Cup 2024 is far from over, and most of the matches that are yet to come are capable of disturbing the status quo.
