Preview and Predictions

The top two teams from the playoffs will be rewarded with guaranteed spots in VCT S2 APAC: Playoffs. It is expected to be the most closely contested event in the region for a while. That means teams like Global Esports and Velocity Gaming will have to night tooth and nail to maintain their supremacy.

Then you have teams such as Enigma Gaming and Orangutan. Enigma Gaming has been very consistent, but just needs that little boost to get past some of the opposition. Orangutan is the new team in the block. The roster is the definition of an Asian ‘Super-team’. These teams have looked unstoppable at times during the previous stage and will want to continue their momentum.

Finally, you have Full Power Gaming (Previously Team Exploit) and Revenant Esports (Previous God Particles). These teams had a strong showing during the previous split of the VCT. Both teams have gone through a plethora of changes and are also playing under a new banner.

Opening Match ups

  • Velocity Gaming vs. Revenant Esports
  • Global Esports vs Full Power Gaming

The last time Velocity Gaming and Revenant Esports played was in the VCC India Qualifiers #2: Grand Finals. It looked like it would be a very close match up, but Velocity Gaming came out strong and ended the series 3:0. However, under a new banner this time Revenant Esports will want a turn in their fortunes.

The other matchup is equally tantalizing with Global Esports taking on Full Power Gaming. Global Esports have already bested them during the Skyesports Grand Slam: Souvenir Mumbai. The Pakistani team back then was known as Team Snakes. Global Esports is hungry to take back their throne, but Full Power Gaming could be the speed bump in that road.

Enigma Gaming and Orangutan on the other hand sit pretty with the higher seeds. Their strong run during the group is a testament to their firepower and consistency. Their already demonstrated during the group stage that they are a force to be reckoned with. So, whoever faces them from the opening matchups will surely have their work cut out for them.
