Despite T20 World Cup Omission, Lucknow Super Giants Hails KL Rahul

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) captain KL Rahul failed to make it into India’s 15-member squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. That’s not the worst for Rahul, he was not even considered for the reserved players list. Meanwhile, LSG hailed their captain as no. 1.

Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson made it into the BCCI’s squad as designated wicket-keeper batters. With the inclusion of these two, the selection committee has no other choice but to drop KL Rahul. It was expected that KL may be included in the reserved players list but failed to make it through. The reserved players list read: Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.

As soon as India’s squad was announced for the T20 World Cup 2024, netizens came out in support of the right-handed batter. Leading the support for Rahul was his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise LSG who posted on their social media handle that the keeper-batter remains No.1 for them despite not being considered for Team India.
