NBA Hall of fame and also the TNT panel analyst Charles Barkley has revealed that he is self-quarantining as he awaiting the results of his COVID-19 test. He discussed the situation with the TNT via a phone call, describing his health and how he has been under the weather from the last two days.

“I spent the earlier part of the week in New York City. When I got to Atlanta yesterday, I wasn’t feeling well,” Barkley said.

“I talked to a couple of people at Turner and a couple of doctors and they told me to self-quarantine for the next 48 hours. I started yesterday, this is my second day.

“I haven’t been feeling great and they didn’t want me to take any chances … I went and took the coronavirus test late this afternoon, I have not gotten the results back. So I’m just kinda in limbo right now. I’m really hoping it was just a bug.”

Charles Barkley said over the phone call.

Barkley said on the special episode of the TNT’s “Inside the NBA” episode when he phoned Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, and Kenny Smith that he had been feeling sick after travelling from New York. He took the COVID-19 test the day he returned to Georgia and also went under self-quarantine for the next 48 hours. Coronavirus has led to the suspension of various sports leagues across the globe.

Yesterday, NBA commissioner Adam Silver has written a special letter to the fans after the officials decided to suspend the league for at least 30 days after the Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert was tested for Coronavirus. Within 24 hours, his teammate Donovan Mitchell was also tested positive for the same disease after coming in contact with Rudy.

Adam Silver said that the hiatus will be “at least 30 days” and added “it’s frankly too early to tell” what will happen when the league looks to resume play. Several other basketball leagues like the NBA such as  NHL, MLB, and the NCAA have also cancelled or either postponed their respective events.
