Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker on Sunday won the NBA 2k tournament this year, defeating his team-mate DeAndre Ayton in the finale of the virtual competition. Surprisingly, only Phoenix Suns’ players made it into the finals of the tournament. Bookers’ Houston Rockets overwhelmed Ayton’s Los Angeles Lakers side by 72-62 while the guard also guided Denver Nuggets to a 74-62 win over Ayton’s Milwaukee Bucks in the second round.
Thereby, the star guard won both the rounds in the best of three games in the finals as after the win he said, “I played a lot growing up. It’s all about timing and eye coordination.” Booker said.
Congrats to @DevinBook on becoming the first-ever NBA 2K Players Tournament Champion! 2K, the NBA and NBPA are all contributing a $100,000 donation in Devin's name to Direct Relief and Arizona Food Bank Network in support of ongoing coronavirus relief efforts. #NBA2KTourney pic.twitter.com/Fsiv56WEgE

After the win, Booker also said, “Anyone who thinks they can play 2K, let’s get it.”
With that win, Booker earned $100,000 which he donated to a coronavirus-related relief. Starting at the fifth place, Booker defeated Denver’s Michael Porter Jr., Washington’s Rui Hachimura and the Los Angeles Clippers’ Montrezl Harrell to reach the final sweeping those matchups with a clean victory.
ESPN broadcasted the whole competition that lasted for three days as the 16 players participating in the Xbox one competition. Since the season was shut down last month on March 11, when Utah Jazz Center Rudy Gobert was tested positive of the coronavirus. The NBA is doing its best to meet its financial losses by coming up with NBA 2K games while the players have been donating very generously to their respective teams’ arena staffs during this pandemic.
