The Border-Gavaskar series is coming to its end. India is 2-1 up against Australia in this series. Australia bounced back in the 3rd test match of the series, where Steve Smith was given the command of the team.
The race to WTC has started between teams and Australia has registered as a first qualifying team in WTC final. Now, the qualifying of india depends on the last match of the Border-Gavaskar trophy. The finals of WTC will played in London oval on 7th June.
In this series, indian bowlers executed miracle for their team and helped them to get breakthrough in every session of the series.
The real problem of the indian team , for now is the batting department in these conditions. Cricketers from india are known to be the best to play spin in any conditions but except Rohit sharma no one scored a century in this series.
The team has changed few batsman, but it doesn’t seems to change the situation. In the 3rd test match of the series Kl rahul was rested and Shubhman was given a chance. But Gill couldn’t scored runs in that match.
Now, the words are coming around from every corner. Australia Legend and ex-captain Ricky Ponting asked indian team management to include Shubhman Gill and Kl rahul in the last test match of the series.
Kl wasn’t at his best during the series, he got ou two time on duck. Shubhman is doing great wonders for the team right now so, playing him in the last test match would help India more to qualify in WTC Finals.
Ricky ponting said, ” You can not rest plyers like Kl rahul and Shubman gill for the test matches. They have represented India in some test, management can have both player in the squad.”
” Shubhman has represented india as atop order player and team should give another chance to Shubhman, to open the innings for india and management could move Kl rahul a bit lower because Kl rahul has played on those positions too.”
The last test match of the series starts from 9 march, India will eying to win the last game and book their tickets to the Finals of WTC.
