Ricky Ponting shares a piece of advice to these 3 Star Indian batters ahead of the 4th Test against Australia!

The 4th and deciding Test of the Border-Gavaskar trophy 2023 is just 2 days away from getting underway at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium with the 1st day scheduled to start on 9th March. Both the teams will be aiming for a Win in order to conclude the Test series on a high note.

A lot is at stake for both the sides, especially for India. The hosts are vying for a spot in the ICC World Test Championship final for the 2nd edition in a row. In the inaugural final played at Southampton, India failed to capture the Test crown and end their ICC trophy drought as New Zealand stood firm against them and won the One-off Test by 8 wickets.

But a lot has changed for the Blues since then. India underwent a managerial change which also saw Virat Kohli step down as the Captain and now its all up-to Rohit Sharma to deliver the ultimate result at Oval only if they clear the test at Gujarat.

Talking of the WTC Final, Australia after winning the 3rd Test at Indore have already secured their spot at Kennigton Oval on 7th of June and and now they are mainly playing for their pride. The Aussies have India’s WTC Final hopes in their own hands as a win or a draw will be enough to deny Rohit Sharma and Co. from reaching London on June.

All of the questions will be answered soon but before we find that out, former Australian legend Ricky Ponting had words of advises to 3 Indian batters – KL Rahul, Virat Kohli and Shubhman Gill ahead of the 4th Test.

As we all know Shubhman Gill came into the side for the 3rd Test by replacing KL Rahul who failed to impress in the first 2 Tests was also stripped off his Vice captaincy role. However, Gill did not make any impact either as he got out for scores of 21 and 5 in both innings.

On that note Ponting said “With someone like KL Rahul having gone out of this side and Shubman Gill having come in, both these guys have played a bit of Test match cricket and you could potentially have both of those guys in the same team.”

“Maybe Shubman could start at the top and KL could potentially move down into the middle order, because he’s played cricket in those conditions before, albeit at the top of the order.” – Ponting added.

For Kohli Ponting thinks that although it is difficult to be in a situation that Kohli is and the Delhi Capitals head coach backed Virat Kohli and said – “I’m every day of the week putting my hand up and not even showing any sort of concern to Virat Kohli. Because I know he will bounce back.”
