8 Feet Tall Afghan Fan Faces Trouble In Finding Accommodation In Lucknow

The Afghanistan cricket team is currently busy playing the first ODI against West Indies at Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee International Cricket Stadium, but the spotlight has been taken away by an 8 feet 2 inches tall Afghan fan who grabbed many eyeballs during the match.

The Afghan team generally plays all their home matches in India as the opposition teams are not willing to travel to Afghanistan due to security concerns. BCCI has granted three home grounds to Afghanistan in Noida, Dehradun and Lucknow.

It’s in Lucknow that the ongoing series between Afghanistan and West Indies is taking place and the Afghan fan named Sher Khan has traveled all the way from Kabul to Lucknow to watch his team play.

Sher Khan, however, can’t find a proper accommodation in Lucknow and that’s because of his height as he is so tall. Finally, he has sought help from police at the Naka police station and has explained his issue.

After verifying Sher Khan’s documents and credentials, the police is helping him to find a decent place for shelter.

This is not the first time that Sher Khan has been spotted in India. He is a frequent visitor to the country. The last time he became a talking point was during his visit to Seuri, Birbhum,West Bengal.

Afghanistan are set to play all 3 ODIs, 3 T20s and one test match against the visiting West Indies side in Lucknow. The ODIs are taking place first.

Talking about the head to head record of the two teams in ODIs, Afghanistan currently enjoy a 3-2 lead over West Indies. While the Afghan team will look to extend this lead, West Indies will look to level the mark and then go ahead as the series progresses.

In 2019, Afghanistan have played 18 ODIs so far and have emerged victorious only on 4 occasions. West Indies, on the other hand, have played 22 matches and have won 6 of them.

Last time when these two teams had met in an ODI at Leeds, West Indies had won the match by 23 runs.
