7 takeways from recently announced IPL 2021 full fixture list

So the date of the biggest T20 league is out now and it is even more soothing that all the matches will be held in India, unlike the last one which was held in UAE behind closed doors.

IPL  has not just emerged as a brand in the last few years but at the same time has become a grand platform where all the top stars of the world compete it would not wrong to call this league as “UEFA Champions League of Cricket” where the champion players coincide against each other.

On 7th March 2021, IPL governing council announced the fixture of the cash-rich league where six cities-Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata have been finalized. Let’s have a look at the seven takeaways from the recently announced IPL 2021 fixtures described below

. For the first time in IPL history all the matches in India all the teams will play at a neutral venue. The move is to negate the home advantage owing to limited venues to be used in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

.  All teams will play at four venues out of six in the league stage.

. Five of the eight franchises will host the matches, but none of them will feature in their home-town.

. Taking about the league stage, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru will host 10 matches each where Mumbai and Delhi will host 8-8 matches each with Ahmedabad finalized for all the playoff matches including the final.

. The initial stage of the tournament which will be held in Mumbai and Chennai will not have any audience.

.  There will be more doubleheaders this time which will be 11 in number with two sides featuring in two-day games(3.30 pm) and six franchise will play three games each.

. Each team will be travelling thrice throughout the tournament in order to minimize the risk of COVID-19.
