UP Warriorz announced Deepti Sharma as the new vice captain for inaugural WPL

As an all-rounder competing in the Women’s t20 World Cup, Deepthi Sharma won the inaugural Women’s Premier League in 2023 thanks to her prior achievements.

She will serve as Alyssa Healy’s deputy; Healy was named captain a few days prior; she is an experienced player, and her knowledge will benefit the franchise to a greater extent.

The all rounder has been keen player for India in last few years and knows how to perform in crunch phase of the game.

She knows how to establish communication with Indian players.

“Along with captain Alyssa Healy, and other senior players we hope that our team function well as a complete unit” 

” We Hope WPL can become a source of inspiration for young women athletes in UP and we are keenly looking to start of the tournament to make an impact”. 

UP Warriorz franchise will have coach Jon Lewis and he will be able supported by Anju Jain as her assistant when it comes to bowling coaching department will be taken care by Ashley Nofke.

They have an experience mentor in the form of Lisa Sthalekar as the main event of the marquee event will be held between 4th to 26th March 2023 in Mumbai.

The reason why Mumbai has been picked as venue as the recently concluded series between India and Australia was jam packed and that gave confidence to BCCI to organize matches as these location.

Even logistically organizing WPL matches in Mumbai will be easy for BCCI.

The event will provide massive opportunity to young and experience cricketers to showcase their ability at world stage.
