2022 Basketball Africa League Media Credential Application

All credentials applications forms must be completed by Wednesday, 4 May 2022

KIGALI, Rwanda, April 25, 2022/ — Applications are now being accepted for working media credentials for the Basketball Africa League’s Playoffs and Finals (theBAL.com), which will be held May 21-28, 2022 at the Kigali Arena in Kigali, Rwanda. To request credentials, all the steps set forth in this application must be completed. Incomplete applications will not be considered. All credential application forms must be completed by Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

Applying Journalists: The Media Credential Application that follows this advisory must be completed by each journalist intending to cover the Basketball Africa League’s Playoffs and Finals in Kigali. All the applying journalists must click HERE (https://bit.ly/3xRCz3m) and provide the requested information to register their application.

APPROVAL PROCESS: The application process will have three stages:

  • Stage 1: Media apply for the BAL’s Playoffs and Finals credentials HERE (https://bit.ly/38kxvtC).
  • Stage 2: Media receive written notice of whether their credential request has been approved. The approved journalists will receive a health check link where they will be required to fill out a health check questionnaire and upload their vaccination certificates.
  • Stage 3: The approved and fully vaccinated media will receive the final credential link where they will be requested to upload their individual digital headshots.

Media without proof of vaccination (or booster if eligible) will NOT be able to get credentialled and attend in-person media availability.

DISTRIBUTION PROCESS: All Basketball Africa League media credentials will be issued by the BAL in Kigali. Specific credential distribution information will be included in approval letters. Each individual applicant approved for a credential for BAL will be asked to present government-issued photo identification to verify his/her identity, a negative PCR result, and sign for the credential when picking it up on-site.
