Harrison Barnes put in quarantine after testing positive for coronavirus

Sacramento Kings’ forward Harrison Barnes announced that he had tested positive of the coronavirus, hours before his team left for Orlando last week. The player did not fly with the team to the Walt Disney World resort and immediately put to self-isolation.

However, the player has said that he is ‘primarily asymptomatic’ and already in quarantine. But once he recovers completely from the virus, he would be shortly declared fit to play alongside his mates in the NBA restart.

Barnes is under observation and as per the league’s norms, the 28-year-old is being tested on a daily basis for keeping a track on his recovery. And if he gets two back to back negative tests for the virus, he would only be allowed to travel and join his team in Orlando.

Once Barnes reaches Orlando, he will have to undergo physical and COVID-19 tests before joining his teammates in the “bubble” for the team training sessions.

Barnes was traded to Sacramento Kings on February 7, 2019, from the Dallas Mavericks and since then he has been a regular roster of the side. The 28-year-old small Forward has been averaging 14.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.4 assists for the Kings this season.

Sacramento Kings will play its first match against San Antonio Spurs on August 1 when the NBA season restarts and they are currently No. 11 in the Western Conference with an overall record of 28-36 so far.
