Gayle scored a total of  22 hundreds in T20 cricket and has played franchise cricket all over the world. With Gayle already turning 40, most of the people would have thought it is the end of the road for the West Indies star. But the 40-year old changed his decision of retiring from cricket which he made during the World Cup in England.

The West Indies opener is currently on a break from cricket after he passed a bad phase with the bat, but he made it clear on Sunday that he wants to keep playing and insisted via his Twitter handle that he wants to score 10 more hundreds in T20 cricket before saying goodbye to the game of cricket.

Gayle responded to the post from a website named CricTracker where they mentioned the West Indies star has hit 22 centuries, which is most by any batsman in T20 cricket. He retweeted the post and wrote in the caption “10 more to come.”

The records for Gayle in T20 cricket is absolutely staggering as he smashed 82 fifties along with 22 hundreds and has  13,296 runs in the shortest format of the game. With Chris Gayle showing no signs of slowing down, the numbers are only going to get better in the coming days.

The destructive opener has a phenomenal record in T20Is as well where he became the first batsman to score a hundred and also helped West Indies to become the first-ever team to win two T20 World Cups. He has scored 2 centuries and 13 fifties in international cricket.

After a long break, Gayle was all set to return to cricket as he was about to participate in the Everest Premier League. But the tournament got postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. The West Indies opener will feature for Kings XI Punjab in the Indian Premier League (IPL), but this tournament has also been suspended till April 15, which increases the break-even more for the dynamic batsman.
