Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle is one of the biggest cricketers around the world. Even after being out of the international cricket for a while, Gayle’s popularity keeps on reaching greater heights and every T20 league wants to have him participate so that it can become a world-class league.

From Caribbean Premier League, Indian Premier League to Bangladesh Premier League, Gayle has been a part of almost all the major T20 leagues across the globe and now he is travelling to Nepal to be a part of the upcoming Everest Premier League.

Gayle, who is probably the biggest T20 cricketer in the world right now, took to Twitter and uploaded a short video clip announcing that he will be a part of the Pokhara Rhinos in the fourth edition of the Everest Premier League, popularly known as EPL. In the video, he can be seen telling the people of Nepal to get ready for the Gayle storm and it is going to be “dashing.”

“Nepal get ready for the Gayle storm. It is gonna be dashing. See you soon Nepal,” he said in a video message on his Twitter account.

Gayle’s inclusion in the league will surely take the league to a whole new level. He is by far the biggest international player to be a part of the league, which also includes Sri Lanka’s Upul Tharanga and South Africa’s batsman Hashim Amla.

Speaking about Gayle’s inclusion, managing director of EPL, Aamir Akhtar, felt really excited to see the “universe boss” getting onboard for the veteran. He further stated that it took them months to convince him for being a part of the decorated league.

“The league had to mature and earn a certain reputation in the international market so someone like Chris Gayle would be ready to play. All the hard work from the last three years has actually convinced him that this is a clean, reputable league, followed by passionate cricket lovers. This signifies that Nepal is gearing up for the next level,” Akhtar said.
