Women’s Premier League 2023: More than 1000 player’s have registered for upcoming auction

Five franchises will be vying against one another for the covered championship as the Women’s Premier League gets ready.

The closed bid auction is all set to start from 13th February 2023 in Mumbai where these distinct franchises will be looking to pick best talent for their squad.

The per match value of marquee event being 7.09 crore makes it second most richest T20 League in the world trailing behind Men’s IPL.

Five franchises have acquired teams for whopping amount of 4699 crore.

Talking about the latest development, More than 1000 player’s have registered for upcoming auction which clearly indicates that women’s league is heading in the right direction.

Dwelling more into details, full fledge edition of women’s IPL is all set to start from the month of March 2023 where teams will be locking horns against each other for full 22 days.

Out of these players only 90 players will be shortlisted and every team will be allowed to pick only 18 players and these franchises including the likes of Adani Sportsline, Royal Challengers PVT ltd, Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians and Capri Gold.

The base price of capped players in WPL will start with Rs 30 Lakhs whereas for uncapped players it willll start from 10 Lakhs.

Every team will have the expected budget of INR 12 crore and they need to pick players under this amount.

Some of the teams have been named already as Lucknow Warriors , Gujarat Giants and other still have to rename their teams.
