Watch : Sarfaraz Ahmed talk about Champions Trophy triumph in 2017! Says we had a "Two-toothed" team.

Former Pakistan Wicket-keeper Batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed opened up about a lot of things during a recent podcast with Nadir Ali. He spoke about a lot of things during the 1 and a half hour long podcast and he disclosed a lot of things during his time as a player.

Back in 2017, Pakistan had won the ICC Champions Trophy at England and registered a massive win against Arch-rivals India in the final. Winning an ICC trophy is something but beating India to win the title is a different feeling altogether. Virat Kohli was the captain of the Indian team at that time and 2017 will always be remembered as a great year for Pakistan cricket.

Sarfaraz Ahmed’s side had registered a 180-run win after Batting first and setting up a total of 338 runs in the 1st innings through an outstanding full century by Fakhar Zaman. In response, Pakistani bowlers broke the back of Indian batting line-up and bowled the Men in Blues for just 158 runs.

However, Sarfaraz said that they did not feel 339 is a safe total to defend against a batting powerhouse.

“To win a final against India cannot be described in words. Had it been a normal match, it wouldn’t have been such a big deal. We had won matches against India earlier as well, in ICC events, bilateral series – in fact, we have won more. But to win against such a team, which could chase down any total was incredible.” – Sarfaraz said.

Then Sarfaraz said that Pakistan pulled off a win with Two-toothed (very young) players. And in front of players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni, Sarfaraz thought players like Babar Azam, Hasan Ali among other players will not be enough to secure a win in the final.

“No runs were enough for them. India had MS Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Yuvraj Singh, Virat Kohli, whereas we had two-toothed toddlers.” – said Sarfaraz Ahmed.
