Australia after losing back to back Border-Gavaskar Trophy matches, have started to stage their comeback in the 3rd Test at Indore. They seem to be in a convincing position at the moment as they are 156/4 and are leading by 47 runs. Under Stever Smith’s captaincy, the team carried out a sumptuous first innings performance with the ball.
Much like the first 2 tests, Spin is again the trend at Holkar stadium. The first 7 wickets were picked by the Aussie spinners itself. Nathan Lyon alongside Todd Murphy and Matthew Kuhnemann who are playing their debut Test series picked all of the wickets.

Kuhnemann after showing positive signs at Arun Jaitley stadium in the 2nd Test, picked up a 5-wicket haul yesterday at Indore. The Aussie bowlers broke the back of Indian batting line-up and restricted the hosts for 109. However, on Day 2, Australia have been bowled out for 197 and India are currently batting and trailing by 75 runs at lunch.

Meanwhile, former Australian Wicket-keeping great Adam Gilchrist came to India for an educational summit alongside Australia’s education minister. While the ceremony was going on, Gilchrist took some time out for a quick chat with national news outlet ANI and provided his thoughts and insights about the on-going Border-Gavaskar trophy 2022/23.

The former IPL winner with Deccan Chargers said that Australia doesn’t have anything to win but there is a lot to take away from the series. “Itโs been a tough series and they have been outplayed by India up to this point, so the series is done and they canโt win it but they can salvage a lot out of it. Thatโs the challenge.”
When the reporter asked to give any suggestions to the Australian spinners, Adam Gilchrist gave a hilarious answer saying – โI wonโt give any advice to the spinners because I canโt bowl spin.โ
