In an impressive display of all-around skills, Team India emerged victorious against Ireland with a 33-run in the second T20I held in Dublin on Sunday, August 20. This triumph secured an unassailable lead for India in the three-match T20I series and also sees three broken records.

The second T20I between Ireland and India witnessed the rewriting of several records. Among these, three notable records stood out:

1. Arshdeep Singh Speedy Milestone

In the second T20I, Arshdeep Singh reached a significant personal milestone, achieving 50 wickets for Team India in T20 internationals. Impressively, he accomplished this feat in just 33 matches, making him the fastest Indian pace bowler to reach this milestone. This accomplishment eclipsed the previous record held by Jasprit Bumrah, who required 41 T20 internationals to achieve 50 T20I wickets. Although Arshdeep holds the second-fastest Indian record overall, Kuldeep Yadav retains the top position, achieving the milestone in just 29 innings.

2. Paul Stirling Unwanted Feat

Paul Stirling, the Irish skipper, unfortunately, etched his name into history with an unwelcome record. During the second T20I against India, he registered his 13th duck in T20 internationals, becoming the player with the highest number of ducks in men’s T20I history. Despite his significant contributions to T20 cricket, having amassed 3,408 runs across 130 T20I innings, Stirling’s tally of ducks stands out in this context.

3. Jasprit Bumrah Return to Form

Jasprit Bumrah marked his triumphant return for India after a prolonged injury hiatus. Leading India in limited-overs cricket for the first time, Bumrah displayed exceptional prowess in both T20Is. In the first match, he was crowned the Player of the Match for his 2/24 performance. Bumrah continued to excel, claiming two wickets while conceding only 15 runs in his four-over spell in the second T20I.

Notably, his spell included a maiden over delivered brilliantly in the 20th over of the innings. With this maiden over, Bumrah joined Bhuvneshwar Kumar on the list of bowlers with the joint-most maiden overs in T20 internationals, each boasting 10 maiden overs to their names.

Team India’s comprehensive victory against Ireland in the second T20I showcased their prowess across all aspects of the game, securing the series in their favor. The match also witnessed the reshuffling of records, highlighting individual achievements and contributions that added to the intensity of the encounter.
