Paul Stirling

Irish cricketer Paul Stirling was born on September 3, 1990. For the Ireland national cricket team, Paul Robert Stirling is an opener batsman and bowls right arm off break. He has been a mainstay batter in the Ireland team for quite a while now.

Paul Stirling ranks among the top 10 T20 international run scorers. Paul Stirling participated in Ireland’s inaugural Test match against Pakistan in May 2018 as one of the eleven cricketers that took the pitch. In June 2020, Paul Stirling was chosen to serve as the Ireland team’s vice-captain.

In the Intercontinental Cup in March 2008, Stirling made his first-class cricket debut while representing Ireland. Stirling debuted in One Day Internationals (ODIs) that same year. Stirling joined Middlesex in December 2009 after playing for the club’s youth teams and second XI. Six players have full-time contracts with the board one month after Paul Stirling was given one from Cricket Ireland. In 2010 and 2011, Paul Stirling made his Twenty20 and List-A debuts for Middlesex.

Stirling was one of the 19 players who received a central contract from Cricket Ireland in December 2018 for the 2019 campaign. The first Irish batsman to reach 4,000 runs in ODIs was Stirling, who accomplished the feat in the second ODI against Zimbabwe in July 2019. Early Career

Stirling achieved his first-ever first-class century in July 2009. Paul Robert Stirling batted first alongside Jeremy Bray for Ireland in the 2009–10 ICC Intercontinental Cup, scoring 100 in the first innings. Stirling competed for Ireland in the Under-19 World Cup 2010, which was held in New Zealand in January. The team placed tenth overall out of 16 teams and finished second in the Plate Championship behind Bangladesh. Stirling, who scored 209 runs in five games, was the team’s best run scorer.

International Career

Stirling’s first List-A century against Canada in an ODI in 2010 broke the previous mark for Ireland’s first wicket in ODIs. The 15-member Irish World Cup team for 2011 only managed to win two of their six games, but they were able to finish strong by defeating the Netherlands.

Stirling had a big impact on the team, and the 2011 ICC Awards nominated him for Associate and Affiliate Player of the Year. Stirling was a member of the 12-man team that England assembled in 2012 to prepare for a series against Pakistan. 2018’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier event featured Stirling as one of the 10 players to watch, according to the International Cricket Council. 

In 2018, Stirling made his Test debut for Ireland in a Test match against Pakistan, scoring 17 runs in the first innings. The first Irish batsman to hit a boundary in a Test match was Paul Robert Stirling. In 2019, Paul Robert Stirling was named in Ireland’s squad for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament, leading the team with 291 runs in eight matches.

In 2020, Stirling was named as the vice-captain of the Ireland cricket team. In the year 2021, Paul Robert Stirling, the second Irishman to record a century in all three international forms, scored his 12th century in ODIs (One Day Internationals) against Afghanistan.

Franchise Career

Paul Robert Stirling was included in Kandahar’s roster for the inaugural Afghanistan Premier League competition in September 2018. Paul Stirling was selected for the Paarl Rocks team for the first Mzansi Super League T20 event the following month.

Paul Stirling was chosen to represent the Belfast Titans in the inaugural Euro T20 Slam cricket competition in July 2019. However, the competition didn’t hold the next month.

On January 31, 2020, Paul Stirling committed to playing for Northamptonshire in the 2020 Vitality t20 Blast. Paul Robert Stirling was chosen by the Dambulla Viking in the first round of the Lanka Premier League in October 2020. Stirling joined Islamabad United in February 2021 as a replacement player.

Paul Robert Stirling was acquired by Islamabad United in the month of December of the year 2021 as a result of the 2022 Pakistan Super League player draught. Paul Robert Stirling participated in the first five PSL games for Islamabad United before departing for Ireland’s international commitments. Before Islamabad United’s semifinal match against Lahore Qalandars, Paul Stirling returned to the team.

Paul Robert Stirling was acquired by the Southern Brave during the first season of The Hundred.
