These 3 Indian players made it to the ICC U-19 Women's T20 World cup team of the tournament

After an illustrious and successful U-19 Women’s T20 world cup campaign, the Indian contingent returned home and they will be felicitated tomorrow at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium at 6:30 PM. The ultimate crowning will take place moments before India takes on New Zealand for the deciding 3rd T20I at the same stadium.

It was for the first time that any Indian female cricket team has won an International silverware of any sort. And the U-19 WC glory is a very bright prospect for the future and it was a victory for the grassoots as well. The senior Indian Women’s team now has the opportunity to replicate the same at the South African soil in 2 weeks.

Meanwhile, the ICC have announced the team of the tournament and it is not heavily but pretty much dominated by Indian players. Total of 3 players have made it to the XI and it is the highest by any team. Batting All-rounder Shweta Sehrawat, Captain Shafali Verma and bowling All-rounder Parshavi Chopra are 3 Indian U-19’s included in this list.

All 3 of these players had a crucial role behind India’s WC triumph. Shweta Sehrawat has come out as the most exciting player to watch out for as the 18-year-old finished the tournament as the highest run scorer with 297 runs. Shafali Verma could have hoped for a better batting display but she will be happy to have the World cup after all.

Verma ended the glorious WC campaign as the 3rd highest run scorer with 172 runs under her belt with a daunting strike rate of 193.25. Last but not the least Pacer Parshavi Chopra was India’s main bowler at South Africa. She finished the World cup as the 2nd highest wicket taker with 11 wickets in just 6 games.
