India’s Mr 360, SuryaKumar Yadav has been declared fit by the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Star middle-order batter is now likely to feature in Mumbai Indians’ (MI) match against Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

A source in the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed and added that the batsman had to undergo three fitness tests. He said, “He is fit now. The NCA made him play a few practice games and he looked good. He can join the Mumbai Indians team. We wanted to be sure that when Surya goes back to MI, he is 100 percent fit and ready to play games. He wasn’t feeling 100% during his first fitness Test before the IPL, so we waited to see if there was any pain while he was batting.”

What was the Injury of SuryaKumar Yadav
During the T20I series in South Africa, SuryaKumar Yadav suffered a grade II tear in his ankle. He was initially ruled out of the action for seven weeks. However, another injury surfaced subsequently and he had to undergo a hernia operation, which has kept him out of action from International and IPL till now.
The right-hand batter has missed more than three months of cricket, but now the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru has given full-fit clearance. The BCCI and the physios at the NCA didn’t want to take any risk and satisfied themselves before giving him the clearance. This cautious approach stems from the upcoming T20 World Cup just after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 17.
Currently, SuryaKumar Yadav is the No.1 T20I batsman in the ICC rankings. His availability for the upcoming will be a huge boost for his IPL franchise Mumbai Indians. So far the IPL 2024 campaign for MI was not good at all, as they have lost three consecutive matches. MI is reeling at the bottom of the points table with 0 points in their bag, but they have a very strong squad and can make a strong comeback under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya.
