The Pakistan Cricket Board recently conducted Corona Virus tests on all the players, coaches, support staffs etc that were a part of the league. Fortunately, all of them have tested negative, which has come as a huge relief for PCB as well as all the people across the nation.

“With this in view, PCB is pleased with the outcome of the results and happy that all these players and officials have rejoined their families without any health and safety doubts or concerns,” PCB Chief Executive Wasim Khan said.

“The PCB prays that normalcy returns quickly to our society so that playing fields can once again witness resumption of healthy activities,” Khan added.

Earlier, one of the overseas players showed symptoms of deadly disease due to which the league had been called off with immediate effect. Prior to making the decision, all the league stage matches had been done and dusted and the two semi-finals and finals were due to held on 17th and 18th March 2020.

However, the league has now been postponed and rescheduled on a later date.

“The PCB believes it has made the right decisions in the lead up to the postponement of the tournament that included consulting the team owners, holding the matches behind closed doors, allowing the players the option to withdraw from the tournament, rescheduling of the matches and reducing the number of event days,” said Khan

The Covid-19 outbreak has led the sporting activities to come to a halt. All the international tournaments have been called-off or rescheduled on a later date, while the domestic cricket leagues the globe has also come to a halt, be it Indian Premier League or Pakistan Super League.
