The novel Covid-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm, and no sport has been spared. Cricket has come to a standstill altogether, with tournament such as Indian Premier League postpones. Many series, like the one between India and South Africa or the Australia-New Zealand series, has been cancelled. The Pakistan Super League is still continuing, but many foreigners like Mitchell McClenaghan have returned to their countries.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is staging the matches in empty stadiums, and have also allowed the foreigners to return to their countries. The Kiwi speedster McClenaghan, who was plying his trade for Karachi Kings, has returned to New Zealand. He will now enter a 14-day self-isolation period. The New Zealand government has made it compulsory for everyone entering its borders through Australia after Sunday midnight, to self-isolate themselves for a period of two weeks.

Upon returning to his home, McClenaghan didn’t find his better half. That’s because Mrs McClenaghan had already left for her parents’ place. What the cricketer got instead was a hilarious note stuck on the refrigerator, which read “When you start to get frustrated just think… it could be worse… At least you’re not stuck inside with your wife!! Love You.”

McClenaghan shared this note on Twitter, with the caption “Straight home into isolation, get home to this note from my legendary wife who’s gone to stay with her parents for a few weeks. See you guys in 14 days.”

He also got a picture of him and his wife with the message “Welcome home darling.”

Chris Lynn also on his way back

After 20 people tested positive for the virus in Pakistan in a single day, Australian opener Chris Lynn has also decided to cut his stay short and return back to his country. This decision comes like a hammer-blow for the Lahore Qalandars fans and management alike, as Lynn scored a century just on Sunday, and helped the Qalandars reach the semi-finals for the first time in their existence. Just like McClenaghan, he will also have to self-isolate himself for a period of 14 days.
