The eighth edition of Pakistan Cricket Board‘s (PCB) marquee tournament will begin on February 13 according to a schedule announced on Friday by the PCB.

The Pakistan Super League (PSL), which consisted of 34 games contested at four stadiums in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Multan, will come to an end on March 19 in Lahore. This time the league is featuring some new key takes.

The 5 key take aways of the tournament are:-

  1. The 34-day, 34-match tournament will feature more than 36 foreign players from 10 T20I-playing nations.
  2. Adil Rashid, Matthew Wade, Wanindu Hasaranga, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jimmy Neesham, and Tabraiz Shamsi, who won the T20 World Cup, will all make their professional debuts with this season.
  3. After six years, Shoaib Malik will rejoin the Karachi Kings.
  4. No. 1 ranked For the first time, Babar Azam will captain Peshawar Zalmi, the 2017 champions, Imad Wasim will captain Karachi Kings, the 2020 champions, Shadab Khan will captain Islamabad United, the two-time champions, Shaheen Shah Afridi will captain Lahore Qalandars, Mohammad Rizwan will captain Multan Sultans, and Sarfaraz Ahmed will captain the 2019 champions, Quetta Gladiators.
  5. This time the league will be much bigger having action packed games and a huge buzz.

The PSL 8 will be a major event for the PCB, featuring the world’s top T20 cricket players and franchises. Additionally, the PCB has decided to raise the number of players per side to 20 at the franchises’ request, allowing each franchise to select an additional two Supplementary players in this season.
