Llorente believes that they can take confidence from Valencia draw

Atletico  Madrid midfielder, Marcos Llorente believes that the Wanda Metropolitano based outfit, Atlético Madrid can take confidence from their recent 2-2 draw at Valencia for their clash against the Merseyside in the Champions League last 16 stage’s first leg. The fixture between the English and Spanish outfit will be held on Tuesday.

At Atletico Madrid, Llorente has switched from his usual holding midfield position to a wider, more attacking role on the right-wing. Llorente found himself in the most suitable position at Mestalla on when they played against Valencia to tap in the ball and score the first goal for Rojiblancos.

After the draw against Valencia, Marcos Llorente spoke to the official website of Atletico Madrid:

“Every player likes scoring goals. I’m happy to have done so and to make the most of the chances the coach gives me. Valencia are a great team and this match gives us confidence ahead of Tuesday’s very important clash,

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid’s signing of 2019-20 transfer window, Thomas Lemar asked the players to improve from their performances and urged to play better against Liverpool. He said:

“Valencia play well and are strong at their stadium. They had the ball and we tried to play our game.

We have to keep working hard, because results will come if we do so,”

The worried and under pressure coach, Diego Simeone had his concerns ahead of their against the reigning Champions League winners and runaway leaders of Premier League, Liverpool but didn’t show in front of the media. Ruing about the missed chances in the game, he opined:

“Both teams had many chances to score. We hurt them a lot on the break in the first half, whereas they created problems for us in the second.

It was a tough game against a team that haven’t lost at their stadium. This is how we have to compete, because this is the way forward,”
