Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has heaped praise on the side’s skipper Jordan Henderson, especially for his leadership skills that helped The Reds lift the Premier League trophy after 30 years of drought.
Jordan Henderson has sustained a knee injury and he is expected to miss the rest of the season, however, Jurgen Klopp opined that he is “a role model for future Liverpool captains” and that said he will be able to lift the Champions League trophy at the end of this month.
Henderson was ruled out of the whole season after sustaining a knee injury during a game against Brighton which Liverpool won by 3-1 on Thursday.

“Get him out of the tracksuit? I don’t know yet, we will do everything that is possible to do it the right way. He is absolutely one of the great captains of this club,” the reds boss said on Henderson’s injury.
Under Henderson’s captaincy, Liverpool has been terrific in the last 13 months, winning the Club World Cup and UEFA Champions League and also crowned as the Premier League champions.
Yesterday, Henderson also celebrated five years as the skipper of the side after he took over the captaincy from Steven Gerrard and Klopp believes that Jordan deserves the recognition and the side would put in the best to gift him the Champions League trophy this year.
“We really thought – for the role he played the last years now – he deserves to be in that spot at that moment” (when Liverpool lifts the Champions League trophy), Klopp added.
Liverpool now hosts Burnely at the Anfield today and they are sitting comfortably at the top of the Premier League rankings with 92 points and setting an eye on reaching 100 points this season.
