Lanka Premier League 2023: Wanindu Hasaranga Plays an All Rounders Role

In yesterday’s Lanka Premier League match, Wanindu Hasaranga played a complete captain’s knock for B-Love Kandy. His knock of 64 runs only on 27 balls, included 9 fours and 2 sixes. He certainly made the game completely one-sided, and Galle Titans were not able to recover from the damage that was done in the first innings of the game.

Contribution of Wanindu Hasaranga’s 64 runs knock

The best thing about the B-Love Kandy’s innings was that each and every player ensured that they made some contribution to the team’s total. Among the opening pair, Fakhar Zaman certainly ensured that he stayed there for as long as possible.

By the time the captain came out to bat, the team’s total was already 103. However, the only thing he needed was a little support from the other end. That is because he was very determined to get a big score.

Mathews ensured that he supported the captain with his healthy contribution. On the other end, Hasaranga went on to get consistent boundaries and sixes. Soon, they both were able to put up a stand of 87 runs. By the time Galle Titans got the wicket of Mathews, the damage was already done. The team’s total was 190 runs, and by the time innings got over, they had put 203 runs on the board.

Magical bowling by the captain

Looks like Wanindu Hasaranga was not satisfied only by making his contribution in batting. So, he ensured to make a contribution even through bowling. Hasaranga started by taking important wickets, he got the wicket of Croospulle, and Hasand, who was one of the main batters.

Later on, the last two wickets were also taken by Hasaranga, to finish off the innings of Galle Titans. This is certainly the best all-around performance till now in the tournament. Now it is going to be interesting to see the progress of Galle Titans from here.
