Archana Devi is an Indian women’s cricketer who burst onto the scene during the ICC U-19 Women’s T20 World Cup. She was born in Unnao District, Uttar Pradesh in very difficult circumstances. Archana’s father died in 2008 in her growing years and her mother raised her alongside her brothers.
It was her school teacher who referred Archana to a cricket academy in Kanpur. She trained under Kuldeep Yadav’s coach and mentor – Kapil Pandey. She could fulfill her dream of playing professional cricket for India because of the support she received from her family.
During the auctions, she will hope to have suitors and play in the inaugural Women’s Premier League.
