Super all-arounder Ravindra Jadeja is rooting for the Chennai Super Kings to win their hero Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s 200th game as their captain on Wednesday in the Indian Premier League in Chennai. The winners of the first edition, Rajasthan Royals, will take on four-time IPL champions CSK at Chepauk.
“Hopefully, we will win the game tomorrow and give it as a gift to him on his 200th match as captain. Hope to continue the momentum of how we have played in the last two games.”
He also emphasised how crucial it was for the bowlers to maintain the proper line and length. The Royals boast the cunning Ravichandran Ashwin and the leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in their ranks, while CSK has Mitchell Santner and Jadeja in their spin arsenal.

A beaming Jadeja responded when asked what he thought was a safe total, “These days, nothing is safe. 212 is the target of their pursuit. We must exercise extreme self-discipline and have a keen sense of the environment.”
The four-time champions have experienced some injury concerns; notable England all-rounder Ben Stokes and his fellow countryman Moeen Ali missed the most recent match against Mumbai while pacer Deepak Chahar suffered a hamstring injury in the first over and was unable to continue bowling.

Jadeja added that the squad would devise strategies to contain the Rajasthan Royals, who possess a formidable batting lineup that includes Buttler, Yashasvsi Jaiswal, captain Sanju Samson, and others. “Every team has firepower, not only Rajasthan. We need to understand where we can keep them quiet. Definitely we will come up with some plan and bowl accordingly.”
Jadeja concluded by saying – “As a batting unit, we have to apply ourselves and pick those areas where we can hit boundaries. That will be challenging. As a batsman it is not going to be that easy. Batters need to capitalise and pick those gaps.”
