Marizanne Kapp a South African Women’s cricket player. She is one of the finest all-rounders in the cricketing world. She opens the bowling for his team. She has played in various T20 tournaments across the globe. She currently sits at the second position in ICC bowler rankings in ODI only behind Australian Jess Jonassen. She is a part of the South Africa squad for the 2020 Women’s T20 World Cup. Dane Van Niekerk and kapp became the first couple to bat together in an ICC tournament in 2018 T20 World Cup.
Early life
She was born on 1st September 1989 and hails from Port Elizabeth, South Africa.She was a bit of a tomboy in her childhood days. Her nephew taught her the basics of the game. At the age of 13, she started playing indoor cricket but when her mother asked the principal of school to allow her to play with boys in the school, she never looked back after that.
She and South African captain Dane Van Niekerk were the first women to feature in the Men’s match for Eastern Province Cricket Academy. She made her debut in the World Cup 2009 against Australia in Newcastle at the age of 19.
She is a multi-talented sports person having represented her state in Netball, Athletics and Biathlon.

Professional life
Since making her debut in the World Cup, she has grown herself as a premier fast bowling all-rounder and often compared to Australian Perry.
In the 2013 World Cup, she displayed her all-around brilliance when she hit 102 not out against Pakistan in Cuttack and took three scalps with her fast bowling. She was only the third woman to take international T20I hat-trick in 2014 against Bangladesh. She also played in the inaugural Women’s Big Bash League from Sydney Sixers and took 17 wickets in the tournament with the best economy of 4.28 in the Sydney Sixers were runner-up in the tournament.
Kapp helped South Africa to reach the semi finals in the 2014 T20 World Cup.
Her career-best performance came in the 2017 World Cup which was held in England. She was the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament with 13 wickets. She was instrumental in guiding South Africa to the semifinals of the mega event.
In the 2018 T20 World Cup, she was the highest run-getter of her team with a tally of 98 runs in four matches. South Africa failed to impress but Kapp performed well. In the same year, she was awarded a national contract by CSA.
She played for Sydney Sixers in 2018-19 Big Bash.
She has played 70 Big Bash matches accumulating 637 runs and 77 wickets.
In 2019, she became only the third South African to play 100 One Day internationals. She was also a part of M Van Der Merwe squad for Women’s T20 Super League.
She played an important role in Surrey Stars team’s success in Kia Women Super League in 2019. She played 11 matches claiming 11 wickets and smashing 104 runs.
