IPL 2020: Top three picks for Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore

After sealing a victory in a nervy game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Sheikh Zayed Stadium on Sunday, Kolkata Knight Riders are up against an upbeat Royal Challengers Bangalore in the crucial game of the season. If Kolkata Knight Riders garner a victory against RCB, the team would be better placed in the playoff race.

Against SRH, the team performed as a unit despite it not being a comprehensive victory. Dinesh Karthik was seen in a nice touch whereas Eoin Morgan rediscovered himself in the middle-order. The introduction of Lockie Ferguson into the side has improved the bowling. The bowler struck three wickets in his first game.

However, the death bowling woes have continued for KKR> Andre Russell leaked runs in the final over of the game which seemed to have closed out. Eoin Morgan has some big decisions to make for the game against RCB. Andre Russell can be an asset on any day but he has failed to keep up the form.

Here are the top three picks for Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday at Sheikh Zayed Stadium:

#1) Lockie Ferguson

The New Zealand fast bowler was benched for eight games despite the deck being perfect for the bowlers who bowl stock deliveries. However, the player was introduced for the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad where Lockie Ferguson played a pivotal role. He changed the course of the game with three wickets in both middle and death overs. He will be one of the top three picks for Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Wednesday.

Bowling at an economy of 3.75, Lockie Ferguson even controlled the opposition in the super over. Eoin Morgan will be looking forward to the contribution from the player at Sheikh Zayed Stadium.

#2) Dinesh Karthik

The Tamilnadu wicket-keeper batsman has a point to prove after stepping down from the captaincy in the Indian Premier League. With the audition for the Tour Down Under and ICC World Cup in full-swing, Dinesh Karthik will be looking to give his best in the remaining games in IPL. The player is dangerous on any day owing to his ability to swing the bat hard and free.

In the previous game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, his cameo helped the team to swell the score. He will be one of the top three picks for KKR against RCB.

#3) Andre Russell

Andre Russell

The West Indian allrounder has failed to get going in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. Before the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the player was helping the team with the ball but in the last game, he almost had put his team on to the brink of defeat. However, things ended well for KKR.

Despite the lack of form, Andre Russell is a dangerous player on any day. His ability to chased down the target in a blink of an eye can be threatening. Eoin Morgan will look up to the big Jamaican on Wednesday with league hitting the peak.
