IPL 2020 schedule to be announced on Sunday

The much-awaited 13th edition of the Indian Premier League will be announced on Sunday, confirmed chairman, Brijesh Patel on 5th September 2020. Earlier, the reports had suggested that the IPL schedule will be announced on Friday at 8 pm.

“Schedule of IPL 2020 that starts from 19th September in UAE will be released tomorrow,” said IPL chairman Brijesh Patel to ANI.

If reports are to be believed, the IPL schedule has been delayed as 13 members of CSK contingent was found positive for coronavirus on Friday.

13 personnel have tested positive of which 2 are players. All the affected person as well as their close contacts are asymptomatic and have been isolated from other team members. They are being monitored by the IPL Medical Team,” the BCCI had said in an official release.

The IPL 2020 is scheduled to start from 19th September 2020. All the franchises have begun their preparations for the much-awaited league. Furthermore, all the CSK players have been tested negative in the two tests conducted after the quarantine period. Deepak Chahar and Rituraj, however, will stay in quarantine for two weeks.

Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians are likely to play the first match of IPL 2020. All the matches will be held in three stadiums- Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
