International Olympic Committee President Election: Out of these 7 Candidate who will replace Thomas Bach for Presidential Post?
The International Olympic Committee in the news, not because of upcoming elections but due to election for the next Presidential Post as Thomas Bach will be replaced soon with one out of seven candidates with diverse portfolio, will replace Bach as new president.

The new President will be announced today before that let’s dwell into the details of all these six candidates one by one in the below format:
1. Kirsty Coventry: Kirsty Coventry hails from Zimbabwe have helmed several responsibilities which include being Chairperson for the Athletic Commission from 2018-2021 in the year 2023, he was reappointed as Zimbabwe Minister for Sports, Art and Recreation.
She have been associated with IOC from 2013 onwards, not only that her contribution in the field of Sports have been impeccable where she won 7 medals in Olympics which include 2 gold medal in order to become the most decorated Olympians from African continent.
In her manifesto, she stressed on the importance of mental health and physical recovery for players along with Zero tolerance policy towards corruption, doping and unethical behavior.
2. Sebastian Coe: This man is certainly one of the biggest front runner for Presidential post after Bach due to his impact in Sports Administration.
Coe hails from Britian have been associated as member of IOC from 2020 onwards.
He won 4 medals in Olympics as player which include 2 gold and 2 silver medal in 1500m and 800m respectively.
As World Athletics President, He took brilliant decision, by introducing Prize Money around $50,000 for Paris Olympic Champions in all 48 athletic events.
3. Feisal Al Hussein: Another name on the list is Feisal Al Hussein, hails from Jordan and currently he is the president of Jordan Olympic Committee, along with being chairman of Jordan Motorsport, Executive Board member in 2019.
He was former Wrestler and rally co-driver was also included in Jordanian Air Force where he held various positions between the year 1981 and 2017 including being its commander.
He believes Esports is the future also want proper transparency when it comes to giving hosting rights to distinct cities, so that most cities can come forward and bid for hosting Olympics.
4. David Lappartient:
Another front runner for IOC Presidential Post is none other than David Lappartient have helmed several responsibilities in distinct domain which include- President of Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), President of the French National Olympic and Sports Committee.
He has been member of IOC member since 2022.
He was former cyclist at the regional level in France, and he also served as Mayor Sarzeau in Britian, where he helped local councillor Mandates.
In his manifesto he revealed, David expresses that he hopes to see Olympic games to be hosted in Africa along with he is in support of Gender Parity in IOC Membership by 2036.
5. Johan Eliasch:
Johan Eliasch is another name on the list for the Presidential post for IOC(International Olympic Committee).
Currently he is the President of International Ski Federation.
He has been associated with IOC member since 2024.
He helm the responsibilities as Chief Executive for Sporting Company goods for Head.
He also falls in the list of Top 50 richest people in UK as reported by Sunday Times with a net worth of 4 billion pound.
In his manifesto, he expressed there should be striking balance between sponsorship, television rights and exploring new commercialization model.
6. Juan Antonio Samaranch Jr:
Another name who filed nomination for IOC post is none other than Juan Antonio Samarch Jr, who hails from Spain have been member of Spanish National Olympic Committee since 1989.
He has been member of IOC as well executive board since 2010 onwards and he has served IOC in distinct capacity where was vice chairman for the period of 2016-2020.
In his manifesto, he expressed the need for involving and growing women sports.
With his banking background, he also wants his insights where he can establish $1 billion investment fund where investors would be keen to provide necessary Capital.
7. Morinari Watanabe:
Morinari Watanabe another name for Presidential post for IOC who is currently serving as the President of International Gymnastics Federation where in past he served as Former General secretary of Japan Gymnastics Associations.
He has been member of IOC since 2018.
In his manifesto, he stated that any president in IOC should serve board with maximum 12 year capacity.
