Indian Esports Update: MPL launches the Great India Gaming League

MPL popularly known as “Mobile Premier League” known for Mobile esports and skill gaming platform launches the “Great Indian Gaming League“.

Stressing more about it will be country first large scale mobile tournament with a whooping prize money of Rs 2000 crore. The tournament will be conducted between 24th March to May 29th 2022 will witness close to 7 million players competing across different categories of digital games which include different domain like- Fantasy cricket, Esports and Causal Games.

The Great India Gaming League competition will also focus on new format on which the game will be played. The League will have 70 games across three different domain in a wide variety of categories could potentially create thousand of winners between Rs 1Lakh and Rs 1 crore prize money in the upcoming marquee event.

“As the largest multigaming platform GIGL will provide access to mobile sports to wide variety of gamers across the country with a vision to democratize esports. We are confident that the tournament will see million of players participating from across the country. Our league is poised to create the largest number of winners for the first time in a mobile gaming tournament in India. We are hopeful that this tournament will encourage many first time gamers to take part in Esports competitions”.

Esports in India is advancing day by day with the industry is expected to earn $11 billion dollar in size at the end of 2025. When it comes to mobile gaming, India is one of the emerging markets when it comes to developing games and producing players in the field of esports ecosystem.

However there is still no official board appointed by Government of India who will take care of all the operations of Esports in India. But the organisation like of FEAI( Federation of Electronics Association of India) recently met with MOS to discuss about the plans to maximize the growth of Esports ecosystem in the country.
