It’s difficult to fill the shoes of an Indian cricket team player because every performance is judged, so when India won the first ODI by 5 wickets, all those top order failures were forgotten, and when India lost the second ODI by a mighty 10 wickets, all those pain resurfaced.
The obvious reason for 2nd ODI against Australia, is their inability to bat for at least 40 overs.
When India was asked to bat first, all they could manage was 117 runs in 26 overs, thanks to Kohli’s 31 runs from 35 balls, which was complemented by Axar Patel’s 29 runs and Jadeja’s 16 runs.
When Australia came out to bat, there was nothing left much for them to chase as they quite comfortably chased down this total with 10 wickets in hand thanks to the brilliance from Mitchell Marsh 66 runs complemented by Travis Head 51 runs.
This is certainly a shameful defeat for India, will hurt Indian cricket team players as well as fans who love and support them.
This will be the last ODI match, ahead of IPL 2023 which will start from 31st March 2023 in Ahmedabad.
Twitterati can’t keep with India’s dismal performance in 2nd ODI and shared variety of things on their official social media account. Here’s the reactions:
2020: Aus beat Ind by 10 wickets in ODI.
2021: Pak beat Ind by 10 wickets in T20.
2022: Eng beat Ind by 10 wickets in T20.
2023: Aus beat Ind by 10 wickets in ODI.— Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) March 19, 2023

Well, this ODI lasted less than a 20 over game . 37 overs across both innings, and kaam tamaam.
Forget this , and move on Team India. Need to play the swinging ball better. #INDvsAUS— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) March 19, 2023
India have lost this match with 234 balls to spare, the most ever in their men's ODI history. Previous worst was 212 balls remaining against New Zealand, Jan 2019. #INDvAUS

India ‘MITCHELLED’ as Starc & Marsh XL.
Australians were ‘HEAD’ and Shoulders above the Indians who were totally outplayed and demolished in all 3 departments.
With the series tied at 1-1, a cracker of a contest will be at Chennai in the decider. @StarSportsTamil #INDvAUS… https://t.co/3EYXhCiys8— Nanee (@Cricket_Nanee) March 19, 2023
It was simply bad day in the office for India, they need to think a lot going forward otherwise, Post IPL they will get few matches and they need to quickly ensure that playing X1 is perfectly settled otherwise being the world cup host and playing in the home conditions will set huge expectations from them.
It will be interesting to see how Rohit Sharma and Company will recover from it as it was evident from the 2nd game that they need to play swing balls better failing that can keep things in disarray.
Rohit Sharma, India’s all format skipper and Coach Rahul Dravid need to address these issues before it gets too late.
