Matthew Hayden (Australia)
This southpaw from Down Under scored 659 runs in the 2007 World Cup that Australia won. He was in serious form in the tournament, scoring three centuries overall. He batted in 10 matches and finished the World Cup with an average of 73.
Rohit Sharma (India)
The Indian opener, Rohit Sharma, lit up the 2019 World Cup with his sensational batting. He was on fire in almost every game and scored a total of 648 runs at a strike rate of 98.33. He made five centuries alone in the tournament and had an average of above 80.
David Warner (Australia)
Another Australian southpaw who is on this elite list is David Warner. In the 2019 tournament, Warner scored 647 and played a huge role in Australia reaching the semis of the tournament. He had the highest score of 166 in the tournament.
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh)
Bangladeshi legend Shakib Al Hasan scored 606 runs in the 2019 World Cup. He was his team’s best batter striking at a rate of 96 and an average of 85+.
