Forbes Honoured Jay Shah With ‘Icon of Excellence’ Award

Jay Shah received a special award called the ‘Icon of Excellence’ award. This award was given to him at the Forbes India Leadership Awards in Mumbai. The award is for his good work in running cricket. He has done a lot to help the sport.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) congratulated Jay Shah. They posted a message on their social media page congratulating their Chairman, Jay Shah, for getting the award.

Jay Shah used to be the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Then, he became the youngest person to be the Chairman of the ICC. He has helped make many changes in cricket. For example, he made sure that men and women cricketers in India get paid the same amount of money. He also helped start the Women’s Premier League (WPL). He helped build the National Cricket Academy’s Centre of Excellence. And, he increased the pensions for retired cricketers.

Moreover, he has worked to make cricket more popular around the world. He has also helped improve cricket facilities. This has made him one of the most important people in cricket today.

Jay Shah became the Chairman of the ICC on December 1, 2024. He has a lot of experience in cricket. He started working in cricket in 2009 with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA).

During his time with the GCA, he helped build the world’s biggest cricket stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Also, India successfully hosted the 2023 Cricket World Cup. This was the first time India hosted the entire tournament by itself.

In his first big decision as ICC Chairman, Jay Shah helped solve the problem of where the 2025 Champions Trophy would be held. The ICC decided that the event will be played in Pakistan and Dubai. They decided on a hybrid model for all ICC events in the 2024-27 cycle, which will be held in India or Pakistan.

Jay Shah has done a lot for cricket. He has helped make the sport better for players and fans. He has also helped make cricket more popular around the world. Because of his hard work, he has received the ‘Icon of Excellence’ award.
