First look of Mithali Raj’s biopic has been released

Among the couple of sports biopics to be released in the year 2020, one will be on the captain of the Indian women’s cricket team, Mithali Raj, in which star Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu will play the batter’s role. The life and journey of Mithali will be traced in the film.

As per the reports, the movie will be titled ‘Shabaash Mithu’ and will be directed by Rahul Dholakia, who has previously directed films such as “Raees”, “Lamhaa” and “Parzania”.

Taapsee shared her first look from the film on Twitter recently.

“I have always been asked who’s your favorite male cricketer but you should ask them who their favorite female cricketer is.” The statement that made every cricket lover pause n introspect that do they love the game or the gender playing it. @M_Raj03 you are a ‘Game Changer,” she wrote in the tweet.

As soon as Mithali noticed Pannu’s tweet, she shared the poster of the film, while also commenting on the actor’s tweet.

She wrote, “Thanks Taapsee, Looking forward to you bringing, bringing life to my story on the big screen.”

Born, December 3, 1982, Mithali made her debut in One-Day International (ODIs) in 1999 and went on to become the most important player of the team.

Before playing professional cricket, Mithali was a professional dancer. She had learned Bharatnatyam and wanted to make her name in that destiny had other plans.

She was just 16 years of age when she made her debut against Ireland in which she scored a century. This made her the youngest women’s cricketer to score a hundred on her debut in ODIs.

Mithali became the captain of the Indian Women’s cricket team in 2004 and went down as one of the most successful captains ever. Under her captaincy, the team reached the finals of the Women’s World Cup in the 2017 edition.
