Women’s Premier League 2023 : Gujarat Giants appoints Rachael Haynes as Head Coach

Prior to Women’s Premier League’s first season, Gujarat Giants, an Adani Sportsline-owned team, named former Australian Cricket team star Rachael Haynes as their head coach. Former Indian Spinner Nooshin Al Khadeer, will coach the bowling team, while all-arounder Tushar Arothe and Gavan Twining will teach the batting and fielding teams, respectively. Earlier, the Ahmedabad-based team made a significant acquisition when Mithali Raj, a former India captain, joined them as a mentor and advisor for the inaugural WPL season.

After the official announcement Mithali said Rachael Haynes, Nooshin Al Khadeer, Tushar Arothe, and Gavan Twining, will undoubtedly boost the team’s performance.

They have not only distinguished themselves in their positions, but the team will find inspiration in their tales of resiliency. At the inaugural Women’s Premier League, Adani Sportsline’s Gujarat Giants will be able to deliver their best effort on the field thanks to their combined strengths. which will serve as motivation for many ambitious female athletes, the former Indian captain added.

Rachael was an essential part of the Australian Women Cricket team. She won Six World Championships throughout her career. The left-handed batter participated in 84 T20 Internationals for the national team and served as vice-captain from 2017 to 2022. She also played for the Sydney Thunder team in the Women’s Big Bash League, where she established herself as the league’s top run-scorer.
