A nation which has a history of producing world-class fast bowlers, Pakistan haven’t been blessed with the same quality of batsmen. However, one player who has impressed the world cricket fraternity over the last few years and perhaps has the potential of becoming a world-class batsman is Babar Azam.

The 25-year old batsman is currently the number one ranked T20 batsman and is leading the side in the format. Babar has played 74 one-day internationals and 38 T20 internationals in his career so far, amassing 3359 and 1471 runs respectively. He averages over 50 in both the formats.

To me, Babar is a potential batting genius” Dean Jones was quoted as saying by PakPassion.net.

Pakistan Super League will host its fifth edition this year, having completed four successful seasons previously. This year, the whole edition will be held in Pakistan and the Australian veteran cricketer is looking forward to it.

“Pakistan is a great country & is now one of the top countries to visit according to the Spectator Index. I know how much cricket means to Pakistanis & how important PSL is for PCB as they probably got to number 1 in T20Is because of that & long may it continue” Jones added.

The fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League will get underway from 20th February 2020.
