C9 EMENES Issues Apology for Xenophobic Comments During LoL Solo Queue Ahead of Worlds

The player named EMENES from Cloud9, who plays in the mid lane, has said sorry for saying mean things to another European player during a game they played alone last week. A lot of people in the League of Legends community got very angry at him for this.

EMENES wrote on his Twitter account that he is really sorry for what he said and that he knows it was wrong. He also said he talked to Spear_shot, the European player he was mean to, privately last week and said sorry to him again today.

EMENES said that what he did was really bad, and he knows that his words in the game can hurt others. He also said that he didn’t act like a professional player and that this was not good for his team’s image.

The 22-year-old player got into trouble because of his behaviour during a solo queue match in the Korean League. He accused his teammate Spear_shot, who was playing in the top lane, of intentionally playing badly, and he called him a “disgusting EU streamer.”

EMENES initially apologized to his fans but didn’t say sorry to Spear_shot. Instead, he stuck to his comments from the game and suggested that Spear_shot was breaking the rules to get more viewers by picking a specific champion and ruining the game when things didn’t go his way.

Spear_shot responded to these claims, sharing what EMENES had said in the chat and explaining what had really happened in the game. He defended his actions and gameplay.

Cloud9 (C9) had initially said they were handling the situation internally, and they haven’t provided any further updates. It’s unclear if Riot Games, the company behind League of Legends, will take any action against EMENES.

EMENES and C9 are getting ready for this year’s World Championship, which is happening in Seoul in early October. It’s an important tournament for EMENES because it’s being held in his home country.
