The AGM is expected to be a smooth affair, as all the office bearers of the BCCI are set to continue in their posts. However, there are a number of important decisions that need to be taken at the meeting.

One of the key decisions is the election of two representatives to the IPL Governing Council. Arun Singh Dhumal (chairman) and Avishek Dalmiya (member) are the two representatives of the General Body at the moment.

Another important decision is the adoption of the annual budget for the financial year 2023-24. The BCCI is expected to generate significant revenue from the IPL media rights auction, which is scheduled to be held in August 2023. The revenue from the media rights auction will be used to fund the BCCI’s activities, including the development of cricket in India.

“Notice is hereby given that the 92nd Annual General Meeting (hereinafter referred to as AGM) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (“BCCI”) will be held at W Hotel – Goa on September 25, 2023, to transact the business as per the attached agenda,” read a notice from BCCI secretary Jay Shah on Sunday night. The AGM’s time will be announced at a later time.

Finally, the AGM will finalize the preparations for the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup, which will be held in India from October 5 to 28, 2023. The BCCI is expected to submit its final tournament schedule to the ICC in the coming weeks.

The 92nd AGM of the BCCI is a significant event in the cricketing calendar of India. It is the forum where the BCCI’s decisions are made and its future plans are discussed. The AGM is also an opportunity for the members of the BCCI to raise their concerns and suggestions.

The meeting is likely to be closely watched by the cricketing fraternity in India and around the world. BCCI’s meticulous planning and execution will be critical in ensuring that the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup is a resounding success and that cricket enthusiasts around the globe are treated to a memorable cricketing spectacle. The AGM will underscore the BCCI’s commitment to upholding the highest standards in cricket administration, both domestically and internationally.
