After Virat Kohli shared his scores of Yo-Yo Test on Instagram, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) was quick to reprimand Kohli’s act of “leaking” internal and confidential informations out in the public eye. It will be counted as a Contract breach from the Delhi-born batter but there aren’t any strict actions to follow.
But, few top-shots of BCCI have made it very clear to players that they cannot put out scores or matters of internal board through Social media. And it obviously goes without saying that the hierarchy did not appreciate what Kohli did.
Ahead of the Asia Cup and Cricket World Cup, BCCI advised all the players who were on tour to West Indies last month to join a 6-day strengthening, conditioning and fitness camp which began yesterday. Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna will also join the camp by this week with India playing their opening match of Asia Cup against Pakistan on September 2 at Kandy.

The intention is to win Asia then the World. And for that very reason, BCCI are not willing to include players that are not fit enough to feature. One of the first hurdle for players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja among others was the Yo-Yo Test.
While other players would have definitely cleared the test, Virat Kohli became probably the first and last player to put out his scores. “The happiness of finishing the Yo Yo test between the dreaded cones. 17.2 don.” -Virat Kohli wrote over a selfie taken at the BCCI camp.
But moments later, Kohli had to take down that post after BCCI officials formally informed him to avoid making such posts on social media. The same was conveyed to other players as well. “Players have been informed verbally to avoid posting any confidential matter on social media platforms. They can post pictures while training but posting a score leads to breach of contract clause.”
