The picture was from the 2016 IPL event when the Sunrisers Hyderabad Team won the 9th edition of the tournament, their very first, after defeating the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the final match, under the captaincy of the explosive batsman.

Captioning the picture, Warner wrote “My favourite IPL moment would have to be this for sure. My Indian Family @sunrisershyd”.

To date, it remains the only time the team won the title. With his riveting batting, Warner was the second-highest run-scorer for the team in their triumphant 2016 season of IPL. The Australian batsman has retained the contract with the Sunrisers Hyderabad team for the IPL 2020, however, the IPL has been suspended till 15th April which was initially scheduled to start from 29th March, due to the global coronavirus pandemic by the BCCI.

The final call on going ahead with the tournament and fixing a date still remains dubious. Several countries have imposed travel bans to including Australia. Warner had earlier expressed his intention of playing in the league if it were to happen.
