Everyone expected India to win in a grand fashion retaining the title of Asian King. They won, but just escaped from the humiliating defeat. Bangladesh team was on fire, leaving no stones unturned in giving India a fight for life.

India won the toss and decided to field first. Liton Das and Mehidy Hasan gave Bangladesh a flying start hitting balls to all parts of the ground. Mehidy Hasan lost his wicket at an individual score of 32, but it was Liton Das’s day and he whacked bowlers for fun. He stood throughout the inning, but wickets kept falling on the other hand. Bangladesh managed to score 222 runs, out of which 117 were scored by Liton Das.

The celebrated Indian batting looked composed and scored risk free runs at brisk pace. Shikhar Dhawan although lost his wicket for playing expensive shot, but Rohit stroke play was a treat for the eyes. He spanked 3 monstrous sixes and 3 lightening thunderbolt fours.

Throughout the inning no Indian batsman scored even a fifty, but chipped in the crucial knocks of 30’s and 40’s. A big credit goes to Dinesh Karthik and MS Dhoni for restoring the lost momentum and taking the team total towards the victory.

Ravinder Jadeja (23) and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (21) partnership looked solid and in mood to finish the game within 50 overs, but both lost their wickets at crucial time. Although, the total was still within reach, but Bangladesh kept it tight and stopped the Indians from rotating the strike.

Eventually, in the last over Indians held their nerves and won the nail biting Asia Cup final. It was their 6th Asia Cup title (ODI format). India might have won the Tournament, but Bangladesh deserved an standing ovation and applause.
