AIFF Takes Stern Steps Against Misconduct By Players in ISL, Suspends Three Players

The disciplinary committee of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has suspended three players for misconduct during a match between FC Goa and Northeast United in Guwahati on November 1. FC Goa’s Seiminlen Doungel and Hugo Bomos have been suspended along with Northeast United defender Kai Hierings.

It has been announced that FC Goa forward Seiminlen Doungel is handed a three-match suspension. Doungel has already missed a game against Mumbai City FC due to the red card he received against Northeast United FC. The FC Goa forward will not be seen in action against Jamshedpur FC at FC Goa’s home ground and against Kerala Blaster.

Similarly, Bomos will also not feature in these two games as he was suspended for two games by the AIFF.  Both these players will be available for selection when FC Goa lock horns with Hyderabad FC on the road on December 8.

Correspondingly, Netherlands Defender Hierings of Northeast United FC has also been suspended for two matches. He will be seen warming the bench when North East United host Mumbai City FC  on 27th November and travel to Jamshedpur FC on 2nd December.  The Dutch defender will be available to resume his duties in NorthEast United FC’s home tie against ATK on December 7.

Currently, FC Goa and NorthEast United FC are sitting comfortably at the fourth and fifth spot respectively in the points table. Both the teams have 8 points each with 2 wins and two draws in 4 games they have played so far.

FC Goa is placed ahead on the basis of Goal difference. The points table is led by ATK with 10 points from 5 games followed by Bengaluru FC with 9 points. Two-time champions Chennaiyin FC are at the bottom of the table with just 1 point from 4 matches. Chennaiyin have lost 3 out of 4 matches and have not managed a single victory. They have only managed to pull a goalless draw against Mumbai City FC.
